Ultraman Fighting Evolution 3 The only thing I remember about Ultraman, was that he was beating on a bunch of fake-looking Godzilla-like monsters. I was one of those kids who didn't pay attention to the story, but rather, the action. Boy did I regret that years later. As of late, I've been doing some countless research on the Ultraman series from summaries to video-clip viewing. When I ran across Ultraman Fighting Evolution 3, I knew I was in for one heck of a ride! Graphics 10/10 Every Ultra brother and cheap looking monster are fully rendered in all of their glory, it almost looks as if you're watching the show. Yeah, I know...that sounds so biased. But that's the only way I can describe the character design. And the environments look very stunning. And notice how they used the signature cheap special effects the game uses on the character's special moves. That's right, this is authentic Ultraman. No overexaggerations, no big beams, no hyper-screen, and definently, no generic special moves. Awesome graphics overall. Can't complain! Sound: (10/10) Seriously, I'm not overexaggerating. From the signature music for each Ultraman, monster screams and laughs, to the classic 'shyah!', 'eyaah!', 'haaah!', 'tah!' screams that you hear from your favorite Ultra brothers. Controls & Gameplay (9/10) You get a 2 on 1 mode, VS Mode, Story Mode, Tutorial Mode, Arcade-like mode, and a Customization mode. So theres plenty to do here, especially on Story Mode. But expect to be very frustrated with story mode, because some of the missions they offer, are pretty hard to accomplish, even with an FAQ. It's one of those 'easy to learn but hard to master' games. Control-wise, it's a little slow and a little difficult to pull moves off if you're not used to playing games like this. After all, the Fighting Evolution series focuses on authentic Ultraman action. On those days, all of them fought slowly for their size. However, the controls get addictive after a few plays. Despite the flaws, this will get any Ultra fan hooked! Overall: 10 I'm not gonna say that this is the 'best game ever made' like some common reviewers, but I will say this. Ultraman Fighting Evolution 3 is a sight to behold and a great way to relive all those childhood memories. Despite some of it's flaws, I still reccomend this game to all fans. Of course, I'll be setting my sights on Rebirth, which is the latest in the Fighting Evolution series. Overall, Ultraman Fighting Evolution 3 is worth every penny. So go out and get it! Thank you Play-Asia! ^_^
